Default Camera

Hey Andy i was looking at the photos you took, they were awesome as, got me inspired :P! i'm currently looking for a camera, and am kinda new to the whole photography scene, so was wondering what camera you use and if you'd recommend it, for price/value? If anyone else has camera's they could recommend it'd be much appreciated also.
Thanks

I've got a Canon EOS 50D with an 18-200mm lens. I had a hard time deciding between that and the Nikon D90 which was at a similar price range with different lenses. In the end the decision was made easy for me when I was offered a significant discount by a friend who works for Canon.

What sort of price range are you looking at? And what kinds of things do you want to take photos of? (eg. landscapes/portraits/macro)?

Hmm i'm not too sure, seeing as i'm just starting i don't really want to spend too much, probably only around the 800-1000 dollar mark. i think i'd focus mainly on portraits, but not strictly restricted to it... how much was your camera/how much was it meant to be?

You can check out the price of my camera and other cameras on Ted's Website. I bought some accessories from them like a memory card and UV Lens protector. They have SUPER awesome customer service and they can give you a 10% discount on some accessories if you're a student:

I haven't done a huge amount of research into the $1000 price range, but I would definitely recommend either a Nikon or a Canon. I prefer those brands for Digital SLRs. Check out those links for more info and tell us how it goes.

As if polaroid film will be passing its used by date! That's insane. I didn't even realise that they stopped making it.
